- While working as Antonio Banks, MVP has used the Malicious Intent, a spinning back heel kick that he was influenced by TEKKEN video game character, Eddy Gordo.
- MVP is an acid watcher of puroresu, the Japanese style of Professional Wrestling. He mentioned he is a fan of the work of Masahiro Chono, Toshiaki Kawada, Kenta Kobashi and Mitsuharu Misawa. He also watches old tapes from Georgia Championship Wrestling and Championship Wrestling from Florida.
- PrimeTime Darryl D stopped training MVP and handed him over to another wrestler named Soulman Alex G., who ironically knew MVP from when he used to be in the juvenile center he worked in.
- One of MVP's main influences is Steve Keirn, most known as Skinner. MVP is from Miami and used to drive the four hours to to Tampa to go to his school (Steve Keirn's Pro Wrestling School of Hard Knocks).
- Growing up watching wrestling, MVP says "Everyone wanted to be Dusty or Ric Flair but I wanted to be Tony Atlas, Sweet Brown Sugar and Butch Reed."
